Vietnam’s only mixed Cultural and Natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, where wooden sampans row through flooded limestone cave tunnels and valley temples.

Trang An Landscape Complex

Why Visit Trang An Landscape Complex

Protecting ancient prehistoric cave habitats and the natural defensive ramparts of the 10th-century Hoa Lu capital, Trang An operates three regulated sampan routes (Routes 1, 2, and 3) with zero motorized boats.

What to See: Route 3: Dot Cave (1,000m long water cave), Dai Cave, and Trinh Temple • Route 2: Lam Cave, Cao Son Temple, and Vu Lam Royal Pavilion • Khe Coc Island prehistoric reconstructions
Local Visitor Tips:
  • Choose Route 3 if you want the longest single water cave (1 km Dot Cave), or Route 2 for the best balance of caves and film-set island scenery.
